Excellent property and experience

Feb 14th, 2020

This hotel is in a beautiful countryside setting but minutes from a small shopping center and eating places. The grounds and buildings are immaculate. It also has a beautiful golf course. I have stayed here several times and have never had a complaint about anything...room, food, service everything is perfect. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Quaint hotel and surroundings.

Nice stay at Virginia crossing. It was a little confusing to find which building to check in at, but we were comfortable in the room and enjoyed our stay. Nice happy hour and appetizers were delicious. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

stayed here for a business trip. very nice. wish the website let you know there are three seperate buildings each for their own specific uses. i took all my belongings out of the car just to find out that the lodging area was in a seperate building. staff was apologetic to that fact and was very gracious to offer me late check out. it was much appreciated and needed after a long night. Top Notch Property

I conducted a training workshop this week. The conference room, sleeping room, food service, and the entire staff were all outstanding. It was quiet and the setting is beautiful. It brings out the character of old Virginia. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Overcharged $179 and didn't bother answer my emails.

Feb 4th, 2020

First the good. The room is fine, the people I dealt with are nice and the grounds are beautiful. I made a reservation to stay for 2 nights in January using the Hilton app. When I showed up at the hotel they thought I was only staying for one night AND they had a credit card attached to my account that was not mine. Really?!? Anyway it was supposedly straightened out until the next day when the maid wanted to know why I had not checked out yet. I explained it to her and left for a business meeting. When I got back that afternoon my key wouldn't work because they thought (you guessed it) that I had checked out. So I went back to the desk and had to go the same nonsense again. I had been in my room for about 10 minutes when another maid came into my room unannounced. "Oh I'm sorry! This room is supposed to be vacant." I explained it once again and had an uneventful evening. The next morning when I checked out I didn't have enough time to look at the bill. When I got on the airplane I saw that they had charged me $257.20 instead of $244.73 that I had agreed to on the Hilton app. "No big deal" I thought. "At least it's over". (Hardly) When I got home I figured that I better check my Master Card bill and sure enough I had charges of $436.36 for an overcharge of $179.16!! So I called back and spoke to their bookkeeping division and the lady I spoke to was very nice. It took many emails and calls to try to get to the bottom of this. The lady called me back on Monday and told me that the $179.16 was a pre-authorization charge that Citicard would remove. Well here we are 3 weeks later and the pre charge is still 'pending'. Here's the part that REALLY annoys me. I sent a detailed email with supporting documents to who I was told the manager of the hotel. I won't post his name but the front desk gave me his name and email address. After 1 solid week I have heard absolutely (insert crickets here). There is absolutely NO excuse for my reservation to be handled as poorly as it was. And there is absolutely NO EXCUSE not to answer my emails! Had I kept my mouth shut who some other poor sole be responsible for my charges? Why was I charged $257 instead of the agreed on $244. And WHO AUTHORIZED A PRE-CHARGE ON MY ACCOUNT?!? I have to wonder if the Virginia Crossings Hilton handles my credit card that poorly then who else my have access to my credit card now? I check the Citicard account every morning now because I just don't feel safe after the way Hilton handled my card. I probably could have handled this by phone or email but Virginia Crossings ignoring my emails has lead me here. You should have answered my emails Mr M. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
