We loved it

Jan 26th, 2020

We loved the hotel. Very quirky. We initially felt the hotel might not suit families as it was pretty trendy and there was a conference on but the staff made us feel really welcome and were very accommodating. We left our young daughters shoes in our car, and we rang to ask if the valet parking could put them in our room whilst we went for dinner. The lady came and found us in a restaurant which wasn’t even owned by the hotel! Bar staff were really friendly when I asked for some milk in her cup. These areas helped with a few areas which initially I’d have marked down such as the pool was booked out for the conference which was a shame as we had a long journey and was looking forward to using it with our daughter. I’d have appreciated an email to let us know this or something as compensation for not being able to use an important part of the facility. Luckily the next day we could use it and it was a really cool pool area. Parking isn’t free but it’s cheaper if staying for longer than the evening to use the valet parking so don’t do what we did and park in the garage first as we had to pay to get it out. We’d advise pre booking breakfast as you save 12 dollars each rather than turning up on the day. At breakfast the two coffees we had were tiny but really nice so we ordered another two and a bill came to the table. This I didn’t like as we thought it wouldn’t be an additional cost but it might have been a mistake as reception didn’t add it to our bill and when I asked about them he said not to worry. Again little things like this make it a 5 for me. One of our favourite stays in Australia. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Everything about this hotel is next level. The design of the room is exceptional with built in sound bar, the most lighting I’ve seen in a modern hotel although it does lack practical storage space. The pool area and outdoor bar along with the restaurant are very hip and have great views of the Brisbane river. The bathroom has an amazing bathtub which is nice and deep where you could easily spend a few hours. It certainly is a hotel for the young and young at heart. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Another great W hotel experience, the hotel is well positioned on the Brisbane River and provided a great spot to view the South Bank fireworks, staff were friendly and helpful. Room was nicely layed out with all modern amenities. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Funky Hotel, Comfortable Beds, Great Amenities

Jan 19th, 2020

The W Hotel is an amazing experience from the entry portal to the clever wardrobe in the room. The room itself was very big with all the amenities you would expect including a huge bathtub and large TV. It is conveniently located close to the centre of town with amazing views over the river. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable and that, coupled with blackout curtains, led to a great nights sleep. The mini bar was an amazing array of options but was fairly expensive. I did not try any of the items due to cost. I was also a bit disappointed to see that the hotel still offers mini plastic bottles of shampoo etc. and free bottled drinking water. In this day and age I would expect hotels of this calibre to be leading the charge in our battle against waste. I had the buffet breakfast in the morning which was amazing. Plenty of food offering and incredibly high quality options. However, at $42 I was a bit shocked I would have to pay extra for avocado! All in all a great stay and would definitely stay again. Worth every dollar

Uber cool details in this hotel. From the tasteful lighting to the quirky art pieces, iconic Australian themes and the mats in the lifts that are changed daily to reflect the time of day(probably my favourite detail) We stayed here three nights for our anniversary and we were both impressed. Perfectly positioned close to queen street mall, south bank and plenty of bars and restaurants. The river cat Terminal is a five minute walk away. The buffet breakfast is plentiful and yummy. The wet deck is super cool as well with lots of different cocktails on offer. I can’t wait to return to this hotel again. Thanks W brissy :) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
