The phone call alone was as if the woman on the phone was spitting at me. Answered my questions abruptly, hung up the phone before I even said "goodbye" but my husband and I thought "maybe it was just her." Boy were we wrong. Nasty looks the minute we walked in. For SOME reason, our room had not been fully cleaned, trash cans not taken out, the bed covers not tucked in, and it was so bad we had to call the cleaning staff. The cleaning staff was nice, but everyone else who worked for the hotel was not accommodating at all. Worst experience ever! Would not recommend this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My boyfriend and I took a little staycation for our anniversary. This hotel was a perfect little get away. We were greeted by the friendly front desk agents who were making sure everything was cleaned and sanitized. I believe their names were Esteban and Shawna. They provided excellent hospitality and were very professional, polite and welcoming. We ordered food from the STK room service menu and it was excellent. We would definitely come back! From check-in to check out. Awful experience. Usually one thinks of the W as a 4 star property . The staff is rude, unqualified, and the property is more or less that of a motel 6. After we checked in we went to the their restaurant which is catered by STK and couldn't be seated. We were told by the hostess to order at the bar and go sit by the pool to wait by our food after we took our number. One hour. No food. They forgot our order. Then security approaches telling us we cant sit by the pool, accusing us of of not being guests, telling my boyfriend to show him ID. My boyfriend tells him the hostess told us to sit there. In any event, this scuffle continues we're later told a manager will come talk to us to apologize, nothing happens. Bathrooms.... one towel. One. The noise level is insane between the walls. Median age is 23 at the hotels. It smells like weed. It's dirty. Oh, and there are cockroaches. First one was by the pool second one in the hotel and third one when we left. Last point, room service in the morning, the application to order breakfast doesn't work. Go to call down to have someone address the issue, they assure us someone will call us back. No one does, call down three times. No one calls us back. Worst stay. We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria at Pedregal at Cabo the weekend before, I'll be writing a review on how 6 star amazing that property is. We have zero complaints. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I’ve come to expect a certain quality from Marriott hotels and the W- this one didn’t meet those expectations. The bad- this hotel is in serious need of renovation. Our room had scuffed walls, broken light fixtures and a squeaking AC unit. I could clearly hear my neighbors talking next door. Housekeeping was sloppy- I found a patch of hair on my pillow, and the little touches, like folded toilet paper and tissues was missing. The room felt like a second rate rental not a W. The pool area had no towels and the $20 cocktail from the bar was basically water. We also received a notice from our Tesla that it had been unlocked and the door open for an extended period- so the valet could maybe take a nap inside? We’ll never know. The good- while the hotel is tired, the staff are very nice, especially the front desk. The bed is comfortable and it was quiet enough to get a good nights sleep. For $300+ this hotel is overpriced and not worth the stay- there are better options in the area. I really hope Marriott makes the decision to renovate this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Came here for my birthday because I was told over the phone their pool closes at 11pm and was for hotel guests only. When we arrived there were tons of people in the lobby obviously not only hotel guests coming to and from the pool... to the point the pool was "at capacity" and the elevator wouldn't even bring you to the floor the pool was on. Many people not wearing masks. Then the pool closes at 7pm. Upon entering the room there was someone's leftover seafood left in the mini fridge which probably accounted for the smell in the room. Manager or hotel clerk couldn't refund for the stay only changed reservation from 2 nights to 1. Wouldn't come here again, should have found a quieter more relaxing hotel. Update: We were able to enjoy the pool for following day (Monday). It was quiet and relaxing but I would not recommend trying to use the pool on the weekend. Update again: Watch your hotel receipts. They charged me a fee of $54.45 for "Wheels" which apparently is for valet services? I DID NOT use valet or any sort of hotel parking during my stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
