Overview

Guests love the on-site cocktail lounge and 2-acre pool area
Travelers wanting to stay near South Beach should book elsewhere

An oasis for both business and leisure travelers, this W outpost sits in downtown Miami and offers spectacular views of the Biscayne Bay from its 50th-floor cocktail lounge. Other standout features include the 2-acre WET Deck and 300-foot infinity pool, the 2,500-square-foot fitness center and 4,000 square feet of meeting and event space. What's more, the hotel offers the brand's Whatever/Whenever program, which caters to guests' needs and cravings 24 hours a day. All 148 guest rooms and suites boast balconies, marble bathrooms, minibars, internet access and flat-screen TVs. Recent guests raved about the massive outdoor pool space, the cocktail lounge, the modern accommodations and the American cuisine and bay views featured at the on-site restaurant, 15th & Vine Kitchen and Bar. But keep in mind: because of the hotel's downtown location, it's removed from the attractions in South Beach. But because this hotel is part of the Marriott hotel family, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.

Stunning design by Kelly Wearstler, big rooms with kitchenettes, and a destination restaurant and lounge make the ... W Miami strong competition for the sleek Epic hotel down the road. But the hotel would live up to its hip image better in South Beach than in its corporate neighborhood.

Interiors maven Kelly Wearstler is giving Miami financial district stalwarts the Mandarin Oriental and the Four Seasons runs for their money with this Brickell Avenue condo-hotel. Guests sprawl on tasteful green- and white-striped loungers with tasty snacks like spicy beef empanadas by day, and the lounge morphs into the post-work go-to for banker types by night.

The Kelly Wearstler-designed hotel has everything you could want or need, and even things you never thought you did, from iPods, laptops, and game systems to Vespas, the longest infinity-edge pool in the state, and a mini 'grocery' store. Rooms, a soft sea-foam green, are accented by Asian art and have balconies with either downtown or river views (staff will also come and set up sun chairs for you).

Formerly the Viceroy, this hotel cultivates a brash, supersophisticated Miami attitude, likely stemming from its guest rooms decked out with dramatic Kelly Wearstler, Asian-inspired interiors and larger-than-life common areas designed by Philippe Starck. The 15th-floor pool deck and massive spa adorned with awesome, whimsical furnishings and ornaments of Alice in Wonderland proportions are quintessential Starck, headlined by a 300-foot-long infinity pool that spills out onto Biscayne Bay, gargantuan hot tub the size of a regular pool, and tree-lined sunning areas of lawn furnishings and oversized cabanas.
