Beautiful Resort

Jan 26th, 2020

I was here on vacation with my family. The hotel is very beautiful. They’ve done some renovations from the last time I’ve been here. The Valet Brett was very helpful and helped me with my bags and explained the process. I ended up self parking due to the fact that I wouldn’t be using my car. He directed me where self parking was. In self parking the Gentleman was very helpful and greeted me I believe his name was William. I stored my bags until my family arrived since the room was under their name. I walked around it is a big property and they have lots of activities going on. My family loves the s’mores we had small children in our party. Garden grove breakfast was great. It was at the Swan resort which is a small walk over. At night time the lights are amazing. They have such a beautiful view. They also have the Disney perks of having the busses at the resort. One thing I love is they have a boat to Epcot and Hollywood studios, but you can also walk there. Only bad experience I had at the hotel was with the self parking cashier, She was an older woman, her name was Karey. I understand we all have bad days, but to just be rude to someone who is paying money to stay at this resort is unacceptable. I would definitely recommended people to come to the charming resort. It is owned my Marriott now and it isn’t a Disney property. No magic bands can be used to purchase things. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A Favorite Property, BUT

Jan 26th, 2020

The Swan and Dolphin property is my absolute favorite for visits to Epcot, and it’s great for Hollywood studios as well because of the boat transportation available for both parks. All of the grounds and amenities are beautiful, and the atmosphere is fun and relaxing. I would truly call it one of my “happy places.” Before I get into the BUT, here’s what I love: -Awesome pool with a fun grotto slide and cute ducks everywhere, shared with the Swan. -Boat transportation to the international gateway at Epcot, a sort of “back entrance” to the park, allowing you to skip huge crowds at the security check in the front. You just can’t beat the Swan and Dolphin if you’re going to Epcot. -Several restaurants on-site, with more that can be accessed across the way at the Swan (which is an overall nicer hotel, separately owned). -Disney representatives on site, allowing you to quickly get your RFID cards and/or magic bands instead of waiting in the long lines at the park. We ended up upgrading our tickets to annual passes here as well. -Access to the Disney Boardwalk area, with more restaurant and entertainment options. -It has been a few years since we stayed, and I think the rooms may have been updated. Bathrooms were much nicer than I remembered. Now for the BUT with the Dolphin (and probably a little TLDR): We got an “upgrade” with our Bonvoy membership and ended up in one of the rooms in the pyramid, where my inner-child always thought it would be super cool to stay. This is not, however, where you want to be, because this puts you over top of the incredibly noisy air conditioning system. That white noise I could have dealt with, but there was also a loud, intermittent thunking noise coming from who-knows-where inside the walls that can be heard all throughout the property. I’ve never before called a front desk to complain about something, but as a person who has difficulty sleeping combined with a “thing” with random rattling/thunking noises, I had to make that call. They said they would come check it out, which they did not do until we returned from the park and made a second call, which was mildly annoying. They did end up moving us to a more quiet wing of the hotel, where we still heard the thunking, but it wasn’t quite as loud, and we didn’t have the noisy AC unit right outside the window. It’s probably the best they could have done for us. I don’t remember hearing this noise during previous visits, and I was surprised that we seemed to be the only ones complaining. If we can ever afford to come again, I think we’ll go with the Swan. I will also say that the place is expensive, and seemingly getting pricier over time. Parking and resort fees are outrageous, but these factors are pretty much unavoidable if you want to stay close to the parks. This is where you come to treat yo’self. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Comfortable in September During a Hurricane!

Jan 25th, 2020

It was a mix of sun and clouds our first day so we took advantage of the huge swimming pool and hot tub. The next two days we spent indoors while outside was a torrential downpour or near horizontal rain caused by hight winds. Although not all the restaurants were open, those that were offered delicious meals and excellent service. I recommend Il Mulino(because of the weather, the Manager bought us a round of drinks!) and Shula's Steak house. The staff was very helpful and kept us informed about the severity of the hurricane. The room was very comfortable. At no time did we worry about our safety as this hotel is a safe have from extreme weather. We plan on returning this fall. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Over Hyped

Jan 25th, 2020

This is a just okay resort considering the price obviously if you stay here you are probably going to the Disney parks so the transportation from here to the parks is very convenient the rooms themselves are about the same as any other average hotel not really a place for more than 1 person to sit if you need a microwave it’s only on 2 floors of the 20 something floors the first room I was in had severe water damage on the ceiling I had paid to have a room with a view and we had a view of the roof with a a/c unit and a wall the lobby is nice but the rest of the hotel is in need of a remodel it is very dated in the rooms we also had ants in the bathroom they didn’t seem to concerned about it they put the nicest spots of hotel in their pictures I would not recommend staying here TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good hotel!

Jan 24th, 2020

I liked the hotel. It is huge with lots of options around - for food and drinks. The most happening place is their huge lobby near the reception area. The rooms are decent if not great. Good for a business travel - keep in mind that this is not a disney property. The only other complain I had is that the room was not cleaned daily without me asking for it. The standard of cleaning also seemed rushed with strands of hair in the bathroom area. A good Marriott property should be mindful of that! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
