Great experience for a weekend stay with my wife at the Wentworth. Accommodations were grand, comfortable, and spotless. Fantastic views of Charleston at the top of the hotel. Restaurant breakfast was exceptional. Walking distance to King Street and shops/restaurants. We would stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Not for everyone, including me

I wasn't happy with my one night staycation at the Wentworth. It was more of an ordeal than a pleasure. I've eaten at Circa 1886 many times before, I didn't need to spend a night in the hotel for that. I was not pleased when I tried to contact the front desk after midnight. I couldn't get ice, I went down to the lobby to try and get some, waited for 10 minutes or so for the "concierge" on duty to reappear. After a contentious encounter I didn't choose to try and contact the main desk again, even though I wanted information I couldn't find. If you're happy with an historic room, and top notch service isn't what you're expecting, go for it. Oh, btw this was my birthday "celebration" and despite giving unfavorable feedback to them online, I never heard anything back. Not exactly what I was expecting. Oh, and the amenities weren't what I was expecting. No turn down service during covid, okay. But the prewrapped hors d'oeuvres plates were refrigerator cold instead of warm as they should have been. What kind of high end place is that? TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A five star experience with 5 star service. The staff at the wentworth mansion is fantastic. The staff is focused on every detail. We had the garden room which we loved since we could bring our pups. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We read many reviews, (They were all good), but our room needed a new mattress last year! You don’t need to spend over $ 500.00 a night, to experience such a poor nights sleep. The staff were all great, and breakfast was wonderful. We met many nice guests at the wine reception. It’s really too bad that this had to happen. We Wanted to spend time in Charleston again, but had to depart early. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My cousin and I visited the Wentworth Mansion this week for her birthday and were incredibly impressed with this hotel. They had a bottle of sparkling wine in the room for our arrival and the birthday which was a great start. The history of this historic home/hotel dating back to the 1800's was fascinating, the room was spacious, charming, and comfortable. The location was quiet and convenient to the sites in Charleston. We walked everywhere. It was my first visit to Charleston. I live on the west coast so it was a long flight but very much worth it. We did a walking tour through Oyster Point (incredibly informative), a carriage ride through Palmetto, three house tours (really interesting), and a tour of the Middleton Plantation (highly recommend). The hotel staff made great recommendations. The extra touches at the mansion like complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres hour each night, breakfast each day, and sherry and port upon arriving back from dinner was a wonderful touch. Best of all was the service. And Bryan stood out and took great care with his kindness, professionalism, and very long family history in Charleston. Circa 1886 was excellent and every person we came in contact with at the hotel and restaurant exceeded our expectations with their attentiveness. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
