Solid Stay

Jan 10th, 2021

Pros: Nice suite upgrade and birthday amenity, restaurant was open all day and reasonably priced, quiet room, personable staff including housekeeping in the halls, at the restaurant and front desk. Cons: Location was not the best - I tried walking to Rosemary Square but the pedestrian light would not change to walk at a large and busy intersection so had to run across against the lights and Uber the short distance back to the hotel - would have preferred a location on the other side of the railway tracks, restaurant menu was very limited - just short order meals and nothing terribly interesting. At another West Palm Beach now and each of the two restaurants has much better menu options. A lot of dumb and selfish guests not respecting the mask mandate. Tip: the hotel has an airport shuttle. This was not obvious to me from any of the information on the Marriott app when I booked or when liaising with the ambassador team in advance of my stay so I didn’t get to use it - had I known about it I would have saved the Uber fare. Never again

If you aren't a rewards member this is the hotel for you. Keep in mind the security at this property is very lacking. Normally a key card is required to get to the elite level floors. This is not the case at this property. There is a sign and a sensor in the elevators, but the sensors do not work. So anyone off the street can come into the hotel jump in an elevator, hit any button and get to all floors and that my friends is unacceptable and very dangerous. First of all I'm a Marriott Titanium for Life member, which has a lot of perks at the vast majority of Marriott family of hotels. This hotel seems to overlook these perks. I recently stayed at this property September 4-7. I checked in the day before on my app and my key cards were ready upon my arrival. I had asked for an upgraded room and the desk associate said the room I have is a “larger” king room, It wasn’t. As you can imagine I have stayed in many rooms and know the difference. Not even an upgrade. I also checked on the occupancy rate and it was at or below 60%. That’s why I asked for an upgrade, because in my experience some associates don’t really want to take the extra time to accommodate loyal members. I’ve been a Marriott rewards member for 14 years. I don’t often have to ask for an upgraded room, but when the occupancy is at 60% it really shouldn’t be that difficult to upgrade a member especially when the staff has almost three days’ notice. Not up to Marriott standards...not at all!

Feb 27th, 2020

This property is not up to Marriott standards. My first red flag should have been the swamp cooler in the main lobby. I am a platinum elite Marriott member and have stayed at MANY Marriotts and this is the worst. I will say the staff is very nice but the property is not good. I was on the top concierge floor, and my postage stamp size room looked more like a Motel 6. The shower kept flooding the floor (at first we thought we had the slider doors closed wrong but then realized the water was coming out under the door rails. AND then there was the loud fan that kept running in the bathroom with no turn off button. It rattled very loudly and kept me up. I told the front desk who sent a workman up....he took it apart and put it back together where as it continued to run and rattle the entire stay. Finally I whacked it as hard as I could with a shoe to get it to stop. When I check out and told them AGAIN about it the reply was, 'oh you are in an end room?. Yes, they are noisy." REALLY? Also, while there is a pool, it sits along side a highway so don't stay here for the pool feature. This hotel services the airline industry - many many aircrew in and out during my stay. They are their top customer. It's nice that the hotel provides shuttle service to the downtown restaurants but airline crews come first at this hotel and other customers wait. I've never written a review before but after staying at this hotel, I am compelled to do so. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The visit was much better after room was changed

Feb 27th, 2020

The lobby is very pretty, staff were all nice....restaurant with Starbucks for breakfast was great too. Our problem was we booked months in advance but upon arrival we were told hotel was fully booked and they could only put us in a handicap accessible room, which they made seem was exactly the same as any other room in hotel. When we got settled in room we were exhausted from travel, but we were not pleased that bathroom had zero counter space and understandably the floor in the bathroom has drain for shower since there is no curb for shower. The closet hanging bar was only about 4 feet from floor so all our clothes puddled on floor. When using the shower in morning so much water accumulated on floor it was difficult not to slip so we had to use towels to soak up water and stand on. Just not what we were hoping for. Upon telling front desk they did move us into room we originally had booked which made the last half of our stay so much more enjoyable. This needs to be understood if this is what is offered to guests, it is NOT like the usual room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
