Excellent precautions for Covid 19

We stayed here one night in June after checking out of a nearby hotel because of the latter's poor precautions for Covid 19. In contrast, this hotel--The Marriott--was much more on the ball and provided a cleaner , safer environment. For example, it appeared that their elevator system was refashioned to allow for less contact points. We recommend it for travel during these times and when we return to White Plains, hopefully in better times, will stay there. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This is a good decent place to stay.. Extra clean room should you tip the cleaning staff.

I enjoyed the indoor atrium/pool/hot tub area. A really convenient place to relax after work. There is a bar and restaurant attached and decent food. Lobby is clean and has plenty of area to wait for other guest/uber. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This is a fine hotel worth staying at for any reason

We stayed here just because we wanted to go to Captain Lawrence Brewery, which is nearby. This was a great idea. Rooms are reasonable, clean, and the place is well set up. The staff is outstanding. We surely will do this again TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Substandard experience and lack of management remedy

Terrible experience with room 54, followed up with lack of true interest or remedy from management. I checked in for a 3 night stay on January 20th. At midnight while watching TV in bed, a ROACH walked along the edge of the bed, right on the bedsheets! I requested a different room, which was granted, along with the "perk" of being placed in a concierge level room. Needless to say, I did not sleep at all that night. Room 54 also had a very strange plastic bag wrapped around the fire sprinkler in the bathroom. How this room was considered appropriate for a Marriott is beyond me. No one contacted me further during my 3 night stay. The concierge level was a joke...no perk at all. I asked for the business card of the hotel manager when I checked out. I wrote him and the director of hotel operations, to ensure they took care of this disgusting health hazard, and to be compensated for my terrible experience. Got a response on email and 1 phone call back that I could not take at the time. Fully one week later, still no follow up on compensation. I have left a message and sent 2 further emails. The response I got was that the general manager would be able to speak with me...so I guess I am expected to continue to call??!! This property is not up to Marriott standards from management apathy to training their staff. I have stayed here many times over the past 30+ years for business, am an Elite member, but will not stay here again. Management appears not to care since it has been 1 week since check out. Hopefully social media will motivate them to change. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Going downhill

We have stayed at this hotel every year for a week at Christmas time for the past 7 years. We are titanium elite status with Marriott and our loyalty means nothing to this establishment, we have never received an upgrade. This year I had messaged the hotel prior to our arrival to confirm an upgraded room which they said they could accommodate us. When we arrived they changed their story and put us in a room facing the pool. Beware the rooms facing the pool are extremely loud due to all of the pool activity and they also smell terribly of pool chlorine. We told them we could not stay in the room for another night, they then moved us to a studio suite. This should have been the first room they gave us, not after trying to smooth things over during our stay. This will most likely be the last time we stay here. The customer service is terrible and they really don't care about status or making their guests comfortable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
