As timeshare owners we come every winter

Mar 16th, 2020

And yes, there could be improvements made. We spent the week 3/8-3/15 at the Westgate. Check in was quick and friendly, same for check out, no problem. Our suite was spacious and serviced every day promptly. Had an issue with the fire place not turning off and that was never resolved, even after 5 different techicians worked on it. We are still hoping that one day the boot locker can be relocated to the 6th floor beside the skier service. Otherwise lots of traffic to and fram 4th floor to 6th floor. The Burger Bar, who formerly was called Drafts, has not really improved in its menu. It used to be wonderful diverse, but now it is just average. Did not see anywhere pizza on the menu so have to assume that was stopped. The draft beer selection is extensive. The Edge restaurant on the premises is very nice and worth at least one trip. The steaks and side dishes are great; my favorite was the bread pudding dessert that could feed 3-4 people with bread pudding infused with whiskey, fresh berries on the side as well as 3 scoops of ice cream. Yummy. We left on Saturday evening (3/14) when basically everything in Park City was shutting down due to the Coronavirus issue. Today I was told that the Westgate will be closed for two months. We are grateful we could do our yearly ski week. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Spacious room but a lot to be improved. Service not upto the price category.

Mar 1st, 2020

Location is perfect for a ski holidays just easy walking distance from ski lifts. We were given without even asking us a room fitted specially for handicapped. This means we had to spend a week on a shower (no bath) with water from half height that pointed to my waist and had to be used as a hand shower. Not what I want on ski holiday with small children and not even for myself. Our room was next to the burgers restaurant that meant hamburgers smell non stop and people waiting for a table were just out next our door. Cleaning of the room has been awful. Room was generally never made by the time we returned from skiing and only once in the 8 nights stay they came to open the beds / leave water and chocolate. Transport desk is a nice concept but terrible implementation. Moving inside the hotel is difficult and inconvenient. The temperature of the pool is way below our expectation and made it quite unusable. I tried few times to speak to the manager but wasn’t possible and he never returned my calls. Positive: Location, room size, room equipment, friendly and helpful staff, ski services, Aloha rental in building, parking, kids club friendliness, family friendly, Negative: cleaning, shower, hotel appeal not according to price level, transport desk, moving inside the hotel is inconvenient. I am of the idea that if I will be given a handicapped room that is differently equipped than standard I need to be asked and agreed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A upscale Peruvian Best Western

Feb 28th, 2020

Pros: great location by the gondola at The Canyons Cons: terrible communications, the staff, although they try, do not speak english. This lead to MANY issues. The management assumes the customer is wrong. Really? Traveling around the hotel requires much experience and you have to take two elevators onto get anywhere. Overall: this place looks 1000 % better on the outside than the inside. It’s a solid C rating at best. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Outstanding Family Resort Loaded With Amenities

Feb 28th, 2020

After a long flight from the east coast, we were so excited to pull up to the beautiful Westgate. We were greeted warmly by Guadencio and Michele, who took the time to ensure we were happy with our room and felt comfortable navigating the property. En route to the room, Michele showed us the many incredible amenities offered at the resort. Our kids' eyes grew wide as we passed the arcade, indoor/outdoor pool, ping pong tables, and more. Ski rentals were conveniently on site, as were some great restaurants (we had a nice experience at DDB). The marketplace was well stocked with convenience items, and the valet parking and complimentary shuttle services made getting around a breeze. Best of all was our room, a one bedroom suite that perfectly accommodated our family of four. We comfortably ate many meals inside the suite and were even able to do laundry daily with the in-room washer and drier. The ski-in, ski-out experience was seamless with the pampering ski valet service and complimentary boot drying at night. This was one of our all time favorite vacations. Thank you, Westgate. We can't wait to return! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
