Second time around

Good stay. This is a near perfect family lodge. Grounds are just gorgeous. Suite had everything you could want. Washer, dryer, kitchen, beautiful patio & much more. Staff was friendly & helpful. Breakfast lacked variety but service was excellent. Lodge could provide more in the way of entertainment for adults. We enjoyed our time here & would recommend for a safe, child friendly resort. Home away from home

My family had a wonderful time at The Whiteface Lodge ...it’s our home away from home and has been for many years...it is truly a magical place...we love the private beach and all the boats they offer...our kids love to kayak and paddle board on the lake! We always book through Tim DiLeo with Lasthoorah Resort Destinations and would never use anyone else ...he is exceptional ...always very responsive and helpful and goes that extra mile! He always makes the process a breeze for us. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The accommodation and amenities were first class. Service at every area was unbelievably efficient and friendly. Pleasantly surprised that the valet parking and wonderful breakfast is included. We also enjoyed many of the area attractions and restaurants. I highly recommend Whiteface Lodge. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Just what we needed!

You know you’re having a great time when you are looking at your calendar for dates of your next trip back. We couldn’t say enough about Whiteface Lodge but here’s a modest attempt of our 4 night stay. The resort itself: this was gorgeous. Very upscale “lodgey” feel. It was clean. Most importantly, it was safe. We had no concerns to let our kids (13, 7) explore the property on their own. Amenities: pretty fabulous. There was so much to do that the girls never wanted to leave. Movies played 3x a day beginning at 3:30. They were family friendly and began with G, PG, PG13. Popcorn was always available complimentary. The game room had air hockey, pool, table tennis, football, and more. There was also a 2 lane bowling alley. We rarely had to wait a long time for use. Coffee and tea was available all day until early evening and in the afternoon, cookies were available. The fitness room was huge and had a lot to offer. Outside there was a fire pit that had s’mores every night, outdoor activities that included corn hole, ladderball, tennis, platform tennis, and a basketball hoop. There were two lean-tos made out to look like log cabins with couches, rocking chairs etc overlooking outdoor activities. Our first night (Sat) there was someone playing the guitar. The pool was heated. We did not use it (we are from the south and pools are a daily activity for us half of the year). A shuttle took us to a lake beach area where we used the paddle board, 2-seared kayak, single kayak, and paddle boat. Canoes were also available or you could rent motor boats. Beautiful backdrop. The areas around it had a snack bar, beach volleyball and horseshoes. Rooms: spacious and comfortable with high end appliances. The kitchen had just enough space to make a small meal or sandwiches. The living room was comfortable with a fireplace and large tv. We were able to wash our clothes in the room with their washer/dryer combo. Shower pressure was good. Bathtub had plenty of room. The couch folded down to a comfortable bed (much more than a thin mattress). The bedroom bed was comfortable. Personally I am not a fan of soft pillows so I would have liked some variety but all resorts and hotels keep to the same types of pillows so not a complaint. There was also a nice porch we could sit in and saw deer in the woods. At night, there was a turndown service with cookies, filled ice bucket, and a carafe of water. A sheet of the following days activities with movie list was provided. Breakfast: what a spread! Aside from the daily cereals, oatmeal, breads and pastries, breakfast always include regular scrambled eggs and a specialty scrambled eggs, pancakes (so good) and a specialty pancake, maple sausage (to die for) and bacon, and a potato variety. During our 4 days, none of the varieties repeated. Service was good and it had great Mountain views. Peak 47 restaurant. We had flat bread pizza, which was really good. Chips and salsa/quest (okay) and another pizza (okay). The kids menu was good and completely consumed. I will say that Lake Placid in general is not a foodie area. You go to Lake Placid for the outdoor activities and pure relaxation and not the cuisine. There were a lot of shops downtown to piddle through and we spent several hours there throughout the week walking around. We hiked and took a gondola to the top of Little Whiteface Mtn with views that will take your breath away. We absolutely loved our trip. Loved Whiteface Lodge and can’t wait to go back.
