Anniversary stay

Jun 16th, 2020

We stayed this past weekend at the Wyndham on the riverwalk for our anniversary. Vicki at the front desk was helpful, very nice and even sent us a card and treats! This will be our new go to for a night on the town stay! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The definition of customer service

May 29th, 2020

Our family lost electricity at our home due to weather. So we decided to book a hotel in downtown San Antonio. We went with the Wyndham Riverwalk because of price and location. We weren't expecting much when we arrived. After staying at many hotels across the country, we have to say, this is the best customer service we've ever received. From the front desk staff, all the way to the custodial staff/house-keepers, the staff went above and beyond on assisting us. Great job! Special shoutout to Vicki, and Corey! Thank you for making my family feel special and comfortable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I'm saying average but I think that's generous

May 26th, 2020

We understood to expect far less in terms of services and availability of amenities when coming to a hotel during a pandemic, but when we learned the Wyndham had some amenities open, we booked it for a getaway weekend. We were glad the pool and gym were open and we knew there was no dining available in the hotel. Little did we know, nor were we told, there would be no housekeeping available. Trash piled up outside doors while we were walking to and from our room is NOT a sight we came to San Antonio to see and certainly not something we expect to see in a Wyndham, pandemic or not. We could get fresh towels if we asked and they were delivered quickly but still, using the coronavirus as an excuse not to clean rooms and make the surroundings dirtier is just plain stupid. The explanation was that they wanted to social distance the housekeeping staff, so why wasn't the same logic applied to the guests? This is a 21 story hotel and they crammed all the guests on a few floors. Is the social distancing policy not good enough for the people who actually pay to come here? I was impressed by the woman who manned the manager's desk in the PM hours. She acted quickly and called the EMT when a guest opened her car trunk and it came back down and bashed her on the head. Also, she was just very nice. The property, though, is woefully stuck in the 90s. It needs a major rehabbing. I think the foundation for our mattress was at least 20 years old. Wifi was spotty, the TV was out altogether when a few raindrops hit the DirectTV dish- can't believe they're using DirectTV in this day and age. They were on skeleton staff, which I understand, but have enough on hand to enforce the rules. Why was a dog (a non-service animal) at the pool? There was no rhyme or reason to the parking situation, people parking their huge pickup trucks in compact spaces or right alongside the curb by the valet stand as permanent parking spaces. They charged us $27 a night to park and though we had a SUV ourselves, we were considerate enough to park in a more remote part of the garage where other drivers wouldn't have to carefully maneuver around the a-holes who parked their oversized cars in tiny spots. Saw a few rats in the parking lot because there was garbage dumped at various locations on the 5 or so levels. The location of the hotel is along a nice part of the Riverwalk that is a little quieter, great for a peaceful walk, but not far from the restaurants, which were just starting to reopen last weekend. Best customer service ever

May 11th, 2020

I would like to say that I travel very often and I have never met a better customer service person then Vicki Dotson at the reception area. She went above and beyond for my family and made us feel like VIP'S the whole time we were there. What a remarkable and outgoing person she is. We will be back because of her alone!
