We turned up during schoolies and the host was amazing. Good communication and a very helpful check in. Would stay again for sure, even during schoolies. A cruise was suggested and we sailed on the Camira which was a great day TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fantastic! Beautiful location and views. Had a two bedroom apartment which had everything we needed. Lovely pool and deck area. Close to shops and restaurants. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone who asked. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Relaxing & Bang for Buck

We stayed for seven nights and were initially surprised and disappointed by the Airlie Beach area (having never travelled there). That being said, we had the most relaxing holiday, spent days by the pool, loved the functional room and really had some nice downtime. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I stayed at the Blue Horizon Resort from 25/10-28/10/2020 in Room B2111. The resort is in a quite decent location with a nice pool area and comfortable beds. Unfortunately, that are all the positive parts I can mention about this hotel. Check-in was quite easy and nothing spectacular. The Receptionist was friendly and the process didn’t take long. However, this somewhat changed after I made a complaint and her “efforts” were not very helpful nor did they provide a solution. I’ll tell you what happened.... After check-in I got to the room. First impression was okay but after a closer look I thought “what the hell”. I am quite a tall person and unfortunately see things that short people might not necessarily see. It is not the most modern resort, however that doesn’t mean that it cannot be cleaned properly. The room was absolutely filthy and lacks of cleanliness in literally every corner. I was quite disappointed. So I went down to the reception and complained about the cleanliness of the room. The receptionist was providing me with another that I looked at before changing rooms. And let me tell isn’t wasn’t getting any better *hahaha*. I’ve decided to just stay in the room as the receptionist was offering that someone would clean the room properly while I was out going on a day trip. When I came back to the hotel, I checked the “cleaned” room. When I saw the receptionist again I was asked if the room has been cleaned properly? All I could say was: “I have no idea what they have done nor what they consider cleaning but it was an absolute joke. I reckon we’ll just leave it here but please don’t expect a positive reviews”. After 3 nights I left the hotel to continue my trip. I received an automated email to rate this hotel which I find absolutely ridiculous after what happened and shows the clear lack of communication as well mismanagement of this property. To summarise, not only during COVID times (especially now!) but in general one should expect a hotel in a clean state which this hotel sadly doesn’t provide at all, as it’s got quite a lot of potential to do so much better. Generally, I am not asking for too much but a clean hotel room is certainly not too much to ask for. Furthermore, There’s no full kitchenette - only a microwave, no housekeeping service provided during your stay. The staff that I had contact with was okay but lacks in professionalism. Therefore, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone going to Airlie Beach. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

10 night stay and had a nice, spacious 2 bedroom apartment. Great views on Level 5, Block B. Great pool set up with different levels for the spa, BBQ, kids pool and a gym as well. Easy walk down to the beautiful Marina to get the Cruises to the islands. Staff very helpful, a big thanks to Christina and Sarah. My friend loved it so much she has rebooked for next year.
