According to legend, Es Vedra – a small, rocky island located off the west coast of Ibiza – was once home to the sea nymphs and sirens who sought to entice Ulysses in Homer's "Odyssey." Others say that it's the tip of the lost city of Atlantis. Whatever the case, Es Vedra does seem to possess magical qualities, especially as the sun sets behind it – at least that's what travelers say after experiencing it.

Recent travelers said that the views of Es Vedra at sunset were worth all the traffic it took to reach the lookout point at the Cala d'Hort beach, calling it lovely – and even magical.

Cala Comte is a gorgeous swath of sand located about 15 miles west of Ibiza Town. Characterized by warm waves, fine sands and shallow waters, Cala Comte is a favorite spot among all travelers.

Some call Cala Comte one of the loveliest shores they've ever visited, with its sandy beach, rocky coves and calm waters. Many recommend enjoying an Ibiza sunset from this beach or from one of the nearby eateries that overlook the sand.

Dalt Vila, established as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999, is translated as "Upper Town" – and it constitutes the old part of Ibiza. Tucked inside Dalt Vila, you'll find the Catedral de Eivissa with its Catalan Gothic style; the centuries-old Castell d'Eivissa, from which you can enjoy magnificent views; and – for a change of pace – the Museum of Contemporary Art. The area also features a collection of restaurants, bars and shops that flank its quaint streets.

Recent visitors recommend wearing comfortable, sturdy shoes so that you can ascend the steep cobbled streets for a wonderful view of Ibiza and the sea. Others also highlight the variety of shops and restaurants.

For those travelers looking for a reprieve from the crowded beaches and clubs characteristic of Ibiza, Cala Saladeta – located on the island's west coast in Sant Antoni de Portmany – might be just their scene. This remote beach, hemmed in by rocky cliffs, can only be accessed by scrambling down the rock cliffs. But the turquoise waters, prime snorkeling conditions and secluded vibe are worth all the exertion, according to past visitors.

Recent travelers who visited this beach call it a paradise on earth and the best beach on Ibiza, even if it does require some cliff hiking to get there. Still, others suggest bringing your own drinks and snacks, since the one kiosk that services the area tends to get busy.
