Best Times to Visit Normandy

The best time to visit Normandy varies from traveler to traveler. Those looking to catch some rays on the beach will want to come in the summer, while others looking to escape the crowds and higher prices of the warm-weather high seasons will want to visit in the cold of winter. Keep in mind that the weather in both spring and fall requires coats.

High average temperatures this time of year range from the 50s to the low 60s, so you'll need to pack some warm clothes.

Key Events:

These warmer seasons are Normandy's most crowded. But even at its hottest, Normandy usually only sees an average of about 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Key Events:

September- November

September, which sees average highs in the upper 60s, is a good short window of decent temperatures and fewer crowds. But fall also sees the most rainfall, so be sure to bring an umbrella and some layers if you travel in October and November.

Key Events:

December- January

In the less-touristed winter seasons, you might catch some deals on a hotel -- but you'll definitely not enjoy balmy temperatures. January and February, historically Normandy's coldest months, have temperatures right around freezing.
