First experience with Celebrity. Impressed. Older ship, but I like that. Didn't seem crowded except for day at sea. Disappointing cruise line excursions. Should have booked through TA or Cruiseline instead, but had shipboard credits to use. Drink package definitely the way to go. Enjoyed the Behind the Scenes excursion on the day at sea.

Relaxing

The qsine specialty restaurant was outstanding!! The seating wait time at the dining room is horrible! It takes forever to actually sit down. We even ate at non peak times at the wait time was still extremely long. They definitely need to work on that.

Southern cruise

This was my second time on Celebrity Summit and that ship is showing its age, service was not as good, seem to lack help.... bartenders have horrible attitudes, its like they know they aren't getting a tip every time so they just throw you aside....food went downhill a bit, still decent but could of been better

Just off Summit 11/24/18 Southern Caribbean. Had a wonderful time, for an old lady, she still looks mighty fine! Food was good, one of the best Lidos at sea, Spa cafe not as good as it used to be. Of the specialty dining I rate Sushi on 5 # 1, Quisine #2 (I heard it was being replaced after renovation) Tuscan Grill #3. Blue was so so, one of the nights I couldn’t find an entree to order so just got salad soup and appetizers. Desserts have gone down a little. Did find bread pudding and custard and coffee pudding with custard in the lido at lunch. Bread, rolls and sweet buns were excellent as usual. Did a couple of IPhone courses for $10/ hr informative and they give you 30 minutes of internet for each class. Our cabin steward “Jesse” was superb, always smiling, helpful, greeting us by name ever time we saw him in the hall. Arlene in the coffee shop made good cappuccino. We were port intensive and got on and off the ship with minimal fuss. Our pool attendant was always at the gangway to welcome us back with iced clothes. We found the ship pleasing to the eye with quality classic decor. In February 2019 she will go into dry dock in the Bahamas for 35 days for a tidy sum of $80 million. The theater is getting gutted, all new seating etc. the staterooms are also getting revamped, we didn’t get too many more details regarding it. Chair hogs... we only had one sea day & it wasn’t too much of a problem, I found a lounger at the pool at 11 am, there are multiple chairs available in the sunning areas. The ship was decorated for Christmas and there was an official tree lighting ceremony, maybe on Monday. Hygiene was good, attendants had squeeze bottles of hand sanitizer at the entrances of all food venues and cleaning was visible in most areas of the ship. On boarding the ship in San Juan at your first phototherapy link your sea pass and then all photos are linked to your cabin via facial recognition. You check on photo booths and order if you want any. Crew were very nice, Captain Jannus was always visible and different areas of the ship, drinking coffee or near the pool etc, he was also at the gangway on final debarkation thanking everyone for sailing on Summit. All in all, I would not hesitate to hop on her in the future, and would love to do the Southern Caribbean again.

Good Caribbean Cruise!

It was my first trip on a Celebrity Ship (have taken cruises on several other lines over the years) and I found it very enjoyable. The food was great and as I mentioned the staff was excellent. Will look forward to other cruises!
