Not for young famillies or large groups

May 21st, 2019

As a entrepreneurial family we all work together and this was our 1st family vacation in about 20 years. It was a 1st cruise for half the group. The cruise was nice but maybe for our group size and ages we should've picked a cruise with more activities, entertainment, night life and kids activities. This was not the right cruise line for us. My dad has been on many cruises and was disappointed by the cabins and cruise overall. He paid to upgrade rooms and was very dissatisfied with the rooms for the kind of money he paid.

This cruise is for adults. Not for children this time of the year. The ship is very quite in the evening. The casino good but not many people

Excellent itinerary with issues.

May 13th, 2019

This was an excellent cruise and itinerary despite some bumps along the way as described above. The ship is beautiful and well maintained. This was probably the friendliest cruise that we have been on out of 14 cruises in terms of the passengers. The average age was 50 -70 years of well travelled people with most passengers doing 20 plus days. A very interesting group. The ship had many varied activities for the guests which were for the most part well prepared. The entertainment was skilled and varied. The only thing I think Holland America should reconsider is the Club Orange, which based on my discussions with other guests, think it is an elitist concept that is not consistent with the friendliness and inclusiveness that is promoted with the Holland America line and its position in the marketplace. They should leave this concept to the other lines that cater to the upper class.

We love this ship! You can see we sailed on her to the Southern Caribbean in 2017 on the Konigsdam when she was a year old. We are now booked to go again in 2020 to Alaska. In our cruising history it’s the first time we returned to a ship we sailed on before. We are bringing family members who are first time cruisers on a ship we know will take care of us and introduce them to fine service. It’s doesn’t need all the amusement park amenities as we are cruising Alaska. All it needs are the cruise guides to explain the things you are watching. After that, it’s up to you.

The Best Mediterranean Cruise

It was the best cruise as far as the ship and the ports. I will definitely cruise with Holland America again... PERFECTION!!!

We’ve been on a lot of cruises with other cruise lines and I have to say, they were very good!, top notch. Holland America has little touches that make them stand out, in my view. One, fresh fruit in the room daily, a cork screw to open wine in case you forgot your bottle opener, and the open cafeteria is not self-serve; the crew serves you. This eliminates people pawing through the food, and keeps getting the food orderly. You don’t have to dodge people too much. The main dining service was impeccable! From my perspective, the best in the business. They have a really good idea, where you use your room key to pour your own beer. They charge by the ounce. I love the concept, but the taps could be maintained better. Seemed like every time I went to pour a glass, all I got was foam. I had to get an attendant to fix this, which was annoying. One thing I thought that was cool was auto hand washing station at the entrances to the open cafeteria. You stick your hands in these holes big enough for your hands and the machine comes on sending swirling water and soap on your hands. It ultimately does a final rinse and the you just towel dry. It’s really cool how this works. The Koningsdam is an amazing eco-friendly ship. It’s also very energy efficient. I was proud to call it home for 23 days. I will lcruisr with them again.

We had a relaxing and smooth ocean across the Atlantic.

We were onboard on Easter Sunday, actually it was a sea day. It would have been nice to have had a nice Easter Brunch for us. Well, they did offer a Brunch but it was a charge! However, we were fortunate to have a priest with us during Lent and to celebrate Easter Sunday. Enjoyed the relaxing sea days.

At 2:00 a.m. we will be moving the clock ahead one hour (x6)

Apr 23rd, 2019

6 different nights we had to move the clock ahead and hour. I haven't gotten back on USA time yet. It's funny, I'm not tired. Once I got over the fact that there wasn't something going on every minute I got into the groove and really enjoyed the cruise. The captain, the crew, the staff, everyone was so pleasant. I can't say enough. I would definitely do this cruise again and would definitely cruise Holland America again.
