Overview

MSC Orchestra, which first set sail in 2007, sets itself apart from the rest of the fleet with a larger variety of dining options, including specialty Chinese restaurant Shanghai. Other options include two main dining rooms and a casual buffet. While there is a variety of cuisines on board, recent cruisers say the food quality is hit or miss.

With 1,054 crew members serving 3,223 passengers, past cruisers also felt the service was subpar for the price paid. However, travelers praised the variety of bars and lounges on board, ranging from the outdoor Barracuda Bar to a cigar lounge. Cruisers can pair their cocktails with shows at the theater, dancing at the disco or table games at the casino. Other activity venues include two pools, a spa, tennis courts and multiple children’s playrooms.

Guests can choose from four stateroom categories: Interior, Ocean View, Balcony and Suite. Interior and Ocean View cabins are slightly larger than those on other MSC ships, while Balcony rooms offer 183 to 420 square feet. The largest accommodations, Suites, include more space and bathrooms with tubs. All cabins include interactive TVs and minibars.

In 2019-20, MSC Orchestra departs from ports in Italy and South Africa for sailings in the Mediterranean and South Africa. The ship also completes some MSC Grand Voyages.
