On Shore with Norwegian
At many ports of call, you can disembark and explore the surrounding area through one of Norwegian's planned shore excursions. There are more than 2,000 excursions to choose from, and they vary based on itinerary and your region of the world (Norwegian cruises to several different regions, including Alaska, the Caribbean and Hawaii). For example, you could snorkel with turtles in the U.S. Virgin Islands or go on a "Game of Thrones" tour in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Some excursions appeal to more relaxed travelers, while others will burn some serious calories (there are three activity levels to choose from).
Excursions are not included in your cruise fare; however, passengers younger than 13 are eligible for children's prices, and kids younger than 2 can go on excursions for free. Shore excursions can be booked prior to your cruise departure through Norwegian Cruise Line's website. You may cancel your excursion up to one day before your trip for a full refund to your credit card. Once on board, you may cancel your excursion up to 48 hours before arriving in port to receive an onboard credit. If you cancel less than 48 hours before arrival, your tour is nonrefundable. Note that individual tours may have their own policies.
Disclaimers about ship ratings: A ship’s Health Rating is based on vessel inspection scores published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). If a ship did not receive a CDC score within 22 months prior to the calculation of its Overall Rating, its Health Rating appears as N/A; in such a case, the ship’s Overall Rating is calculated using the average Health Rating of all CDC-rated ships within the cruise line. All ship Traveler Ratings are based on ratings provided under license by Cruiseline.com.
