Overview

Originally launched in 2004, the 2,670-guest Diamond Princess saw an overhaul in 2017 to update features such as the adults-only Sanctuary deck and the 300-square-foot outdoor movie theater, among other additions.

While parents savor cocktails at one of the ship's five lounges, youngsters can partake in activities like arts and crafts, pizza parties and karaoke at age-appropriate youth clubs. When the whole gang wants to come together for a meal or some snacks, passengers can choose from a total of 13 dining venues, including three specialty restaurants and more casual options like hot dogs and burgers at the Trident Grill.

Most recent cruisers give Diamond Princess high marks for its well-maintained public areas and spacious staterooms. Interior cabins span 158 to 162 square feet, while 75 percent of exterior cabins offer private balconies. All staterooms are equipped with flat-screen TVs and minifridges. Plus, with 1,100 crew members on board, service remains a priority.
