Summertime Carribean Cruise

Overall, great cruise made possible by the staff. Dining experiences were definite highlights of the day and the head chef (Karl) and team were extremely engaging. I would receommend.

Good vacation, but not the best ever

Jul 16th, 2019

This trip was meant to go to Cuba and we were hoping the trip would include Coco Cay instead of the Western Caribbean route it went on. We were somewhat disappointed in the Jr. Suite cabin in that it felt like a typical balcony size on a newer ship. The boat is showing its age and should be retired soon. The Windjammer Cafe always felt crowded, with very little food selection, and often repeated buffet options.

Great Caribbean Cruise

Great sailing on this ship. Smooth seas, enjoyed sleeping at night after the party. Entertainment was excellent for adults and children. A Romantic sailing for us. We share many memories and met many new friends. I loved the Royal Shops and the lovey sales help on board.

Not bad for the price.

Crews was nice. If you’re looking for a nice getaway this cruise is for you. If your looking for the “WOW” of the big ships, you should do something different. Read some reviews before you go, there is a smell on parts of the ship. We didn’t find unbearable...some did.

Sailed October 2018 The stars for my review is only for the ship and her amenities. Great crew. Chandan at Chops Grill was a spectacular waiter. Loved our dining crew in the MDR. Not much to do... karaoke every night. A trivia game once in a while. Horrible coffee and chai at the coffee shop next to Boleros was horrid. We are very happy we did see Cuba. Hope to get back there another time.

Pleasant

Overall, we were disappointed we could not go to Cuba as planned, but very happy none the less for the experience. The ship indeed is older and smaller, but had its own charm. oUR CABIN Stewart was amazing. I must say, although there were many young and new waiters etc, all were spectacularly friendly and engaging. Well done on service.

Creative, Casual, Caribbean, Cruise

This particular cruise was supposed to go to Cuba. Royal Caribbean did everything to make up for the last minute change in the itinerary. As a result, we made the best of the cruise. As a side note, we sailed passed Havana, Cuba and waved! We enjoyed our vacation and came back home very relaxed.

Empress of the Seas

Jul 2nd, 2019

I enjoyed the cruise. There was an awesome photo package available that we took advantage of. It was so nice not to have to remember to take pictures of everyone. The Dolphin encounter at Costa Maya was memorable but the prices at the stores were exorbitant. A very small island designed especially for the cruise industry. Cozumel had so many different, interesting choices for tours, sorry I could only do one. Key West is Key West. Three times there and it is in my humble opinion like most tourist traps. But what can I say, I enjoyed the cruise.

Not my Cuba cruise.

Jun 25th, 2019

Although we did not get to go to Cuba, the overall experience was fantastic. The food and service was amazing from dining, bar, pool and room attendant. Went on the Harmony of the Seas 8 weeks prior to this cruise and although the Harmony is rated #1 in the fleet we had a better time on the Empress. Staff and service can make your disappointment disappear. Unfortunately we missed our flight after the trip because we got into port late because of a emergncy medical evacuation on our last night. Not the cruise lines fault. Good to know safety was priority even though they knew many people would miss flights home. They offered assistance to every passenger who needed it to help make new plans home.

Relaxing change of plans

Jun 25th, 2019

The cruise was supposed to go to Cuba but was changed due to new regulations. We enjoyed the new Western Caribbean itinerary though did not have enough time in San Juan. Loved the diversity of the ship crew including entertainment staff and director.
