6 Luxury Hotels With Unique Value-Added Perks
Deal-chasers, take note.

With exorbitant nightly rates, five-star hotels are often out of the question for many budget-minded travelers. Still, sometimes complimentary amenities (think luxury cars, ski lift tickets, VIP wine tastings, spa treatments) can add up, making it much easier to justify the expense for a superlative stay, especially if you’re planning to indulge in those activities anyway. If you’re open to rethinking what’s included in a nightly rate, here are six four- and five-star properties offering worthwhile perks and privileges.
The Little Nell
The steep hidden charges for items from the hotel minibar can translate to sticker shock. Fortunately, at The Little Nell, guests can raid their minibars without having to do the math on a confusing menu of inflated prices. And the free snacks and nonalcoholic drinks included are mostly premium brands. What's more, the minibars are refreshed daily. Another valuable amenity included when you stay at Aspen’s only AAA Five Diamond Hotel: access to Audi's Test Drive program. Each guest has the option of a complimentary two-hour rental of a luxurious new model.
Hotel Terra Jackson Hole
Teton Village, Wyoming
Let's get this out of the way: You'll have to stay at least four nights to reap free lift ticket benefits. But trust us, Jackson Hole is a real-life winter wonderland, and you’ll want to stay longer. Conveniently located at the base of the slopes, this Noble House property is a short walk to the ski chairlifts and gondola. More importantly, if you stay four nights at Hotel Terra Jackson Hole, you get three days of complimentary adult lift tickets for two adults.
The Pierre New York, A Taj Hotel
New York City
Parking in Manhattan isn’t cheap. That's why free parking (for Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles) is a huge perk of staying at The Pierre New York. Located on the southeast corner of Central Park, the Taj Hotel's upper floor rooms boast spectacular city vistas. But perhaps the coolest complimentary amenity is riding around town in the hotel’s house Jaguar XJ. Other perks include a 24-hour fitness center and complimentary Wi-Fi.
The Peninsula Beverly Hills
Beverly Hills, California
At The Peninsula, guests have the chance to take advantage of flexible check-in and check-out times. For example, you can check in at 8 a.m. on a Thursday and leave at 11 p.m. on Friday. This is a generous perk considering that most hotels charge hefty early check-in or late checkout fees if you arrive before 3 p.m. and stay past 11 a.m. What's more, The Peninsula Beverly Hills is located within walking distance of top attractions such as Rodeo Drive and Century City, so you don’t have to spend time or money sitting in traffic.
It's hard to stay in Sonoma County without wanting to indulge in wine. At this 25-room inn, VIP wine tastings at the valley’s most sought-after wineries are included. Normally, these experiential visits can cost up to $120 per couple, per tasting room. One more thing that helps justify the steep nightly rate: Farmhouse Inn's house car, a Model X Tesla, is available for complimentary trips within a 15-mile radius. The inn is also the only hotel that can set guests up with their own 24- to 48-hour Overnight with Tesla certificate. Finally, the hotel concierges can arrange private Tesla factory tours.
The Setai, Miami Beach
Miami Beach, Florida
If you love art deco architecture, then this Miami Beach landmark hotel is a must-visit. The property first opened in 1937 as the Dempsey-Vanderbilt Hotel and was commissioned by heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey. Today, the art deco suites – known as The Ocean Suites – at The Setai, Miami Beach offer one of the best overall values. The nightly rate includes one signature spa treatment per stay, free in-room nonalcoholic beverages and complimentary valet parking for one car. If you would rather not bring along a set of wheels, fret not: The nightly rate also includes round-trip airport transfers between Miami International and Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International airports.
