With that in mind, U.S. News went in search of the top last-minute spring cruise vacation deals. Book these enticing spring sailings before the summer rush.

A Princess Cruise from Los Angeles

If you're looking for an affordable, spur-of-the-moment getaway this spring, this short cruise is a great bet. For just $214 per person, you can sail from Los Angeles to Vancouver aboard the Emerald Princess. Just keep in mind, the trip departs on May 10 and is a repositioning cruise, so you will need transportation back to Los Angeles. But for an affordable rate you'll get the fun of a three-day cruise and the chance to visit Vancouver, one of Canada's most iconic cities.

The seven-night trip departs from Seattle, with stops in Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan and Victoria, Alaska, before returning home. If you're looking for a budget-friendly sailing to Alaska, this is one of the best deals available.

An MSC Cruise from Miami

As one of the most popular cruise ports across the country, Miami offers plenty of enticing deals for cruisers. For example, for less than $700 per person, you can sail from Miami to the Caribbean aboard the MSC Divina. This cruise departs June 24 and makes stops in St. Maarten, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas before returning to Miami.

A Carnival Cruise from Port Canaveral, Florida

Searching for a last-minute deal on a four-day cruise? This may just be the perfect trip for you. For just $319 per person, you can sail aboard the Carnival Liberty ship departing May 7. After leaving Port Canaveral, the cruise will take you to Nassau and Freeport in the Bahamas before returning home. The short cruise is ideal for passengers wanting a quick, spur-of-the-moment vacation that won't burst their budgets.

A Carnival Cruise from Miami

MSC Cruises isn't the only cruise line offering great deals from Miami. This seven-day eastern Caribbean cruise aboard Carnival Glory costs just $739 per person and makes stops in Half Moon Cay (Carnival's private island), before heading to the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Turks and Caicos. But you'll have to hurry because this trip departs May 27.

A Royal Caribbean Cruise from Galveston, Texas

Galveston and New Orleans are excellent departure port options if you're interested in sailing to the western Caribbean for a low price. Case in point: This Royal Caribbean trip aboard Liberty of the Seas, which departs from Galveston on May 14. The cruise leaves from Galveston and makes stops in Roatan, Honduras, and Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico, and offers sailing rates starting at $844. Even better, Liberty of the Seas underwent renovations recently, allowing for cutting-edge onboard amenities (think: a rock climbing wall, a surf simulator and an ice skating rink).

A Royal Caribbean Cruise from Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Want to sail aboard one of the world's largest cruise ships for a great price? The Allure of the Seas is a staggering 1,187 feet long; just one foot shorter than the largest cruise ship in the world: Harmony of the Seas. Sailing aboard the Allure of the Seas enables you to enjoy whiz-bang features, such as a zip line, state-of-the-art kid's water park and a full-size basketball court, without paying a high price tag. This trip, departing June 25 from Fort Lauderdale, offers rates starting at $879. Stops include the Bahamas, the U.S. Virgin Islands and St. Kitts.

A Carnival Cruise From Miami

Carnival Vista is Carnival's newest ship, making headlines for its groundbreaking features like the first IMAX theater at sea. Set sail on May 28, and you can get a great deal cruising aboard the brand-new Vista, with rates starting at $779 for a six-day journey. The cruise departs from Miami and makes calls in Jamaica, the Cayman Islands and Cozumel before returning to Miami.

A Round-the-World Princess Cruise from Civitavecchia, Italy

While most budget-friendly cruises included on this list depart from the U.S., this once-in-a-lifetime sailing is hard to match if you're a bargain-hunter. For $899, you can embark on a 15-day round-the-world trip departing on May 21. The cruise, aboard the Majestic Princess, departs from Civitavecchia, Italy. From there, the ship will make stops in Naples, Italy, Athens, Petra, Jordan and more legendary destinations before ending in Dubai.

A Disney Cruise Sailing from Port Canaveral

When is a three-night cruise priced at $2,145 considered a good deal? When it's aboard Disney Cruise Line. Disney is known for its top-notch service – and high price tags. But sail aboard the Disney Fantasy on May 17, and you can enjoy relaxing in a spacious veranda category room at a reasonable price. What's more, you can enjoy two days at Disney's private island Castaway Cay.
