Buddha Park

Vientiane, Laos
The sculptures of the Buddha Park of Vientiane, Laos fuse imagery from both the Buddhist and Hindu religions. These exotic creations (and that of the similar Sala Keoku park in Nong Khai, Thailand) are the work and imagination of Thai artist Bunleua Sulilat.

Nong Khai, Thailand
Sulilat constructed his second park, Sala Keoku, after he fled Laos during the communist revolution of 1975. Built along the banks of the Mekong River (just like its cousin, Buddha Park), Sala Keoku also contains a blend of Buddhist and Hindu symbols.

The Holy Bible doesn't specify how long it took Noah to build his ark. But Kentucky's proposed park (which would house a full-scale model of said boat) should take less than four years to complete. Ark Encounter LLC hopes to open the doors to its theme park by the spring of 2014.
