Membership Levels

The Choice Privileges program is divided into four tiers: Member, Gold, Platinum and Diamond.

Member

Benefits include:

You can sign up for the free Choice Privileges program on the Choice Hotels website or at any Choice Hotel. 

Becoming a basic member allows you to start accruing points toward free nights. You'll automatically receive benefits like late checkout upon request, free local calls at select locations, express check-in, free high-speed internet access (at participating properties) and complimentary weekday newspapers, where available. Plus, Members are given a collectible coaster (which can be used for a free beverage at an affiliated hotel's bar after one drink purchase) or 250 bonus points (when staying at Cambria hotels & suites properties). Members also receive added benefits for booking a stay with at least one weeknight (Sunday through Thursday). Those benefits include bonus Choice Privileges points or airline miles, per gallon discounts at participating fuel stations, coffee gift cards, Amazon credit and Uber discounts. Reward stays in hotels cannot be booked more than 100 days prior to your arrival date. To keep your accrued points from expiring, you must stay at a Choice Hotels property at least once every 18 months.

Gold

Benefits include:

  • Member discounts

To qualify for and keep Gold status in the Choice Privileges program, you must stay at least 10 nights at an affiliated property every calendar year. (Reward nights count toward your elite status.) A Gold membership will allow you to earn 10 percent more points per stay than basic members. Gold members also receive elite member offers and a dedicated reservation line (for U.S. and Canada members), plus a free snack and beverage at check-in or bonus points from participating U.S. hotels (including Comfort Suites and Clarion). Keeping your Gold membership will require meeting minimum stay requirements annually.

Platinum

  • Member discounts

If you stay at Choice Hotels properties for at least 20 nights in a calendar year, you will qualify for Platinum membership. Along with the benefits awarded to previous tiers, Platinum members will earn a 25 percent points bonus each stay. Additionally, U.S. members will receive elite luggage tags. You must requalify for Platinum status each year by staying the requisite amount of qualifying nights.

Diamond

  • Free room upgrades

Staying at Choice Hotels properties for 40 or more nights within a calendar year will grant you Diamond membership. As a Diamond member, you will earn 50 percent more points per stay than basic members. And along with Member, Gold and Platinum benefits, Diamond members have access to complimentary room upgrades (subject to availability). To maintain your Diamond membership status, you must meet minimum stay requirements each year.

Best Western Rewards

The Best Western Rewards program is geared toward budget-minded business and family travelers. Best Western Rewards members can earn and redeem points at 4,200 Best Western hotels in 100-plus countries, including the United States and Canada. Members can also earn points by using Best Western partner services (which range from car rentals to flower delivery) and by making everyday purchases using a Best Western Rewards MasterCard or by converting Diners Club Rewards to Best Western Rewards points. These points can be put toward future stays at Best Western hotels. As of June 2018, members can also redeem points for members-only experiences (such as a walking tour of Quebec and an aerial tour of the Grand Canyon) through the Experiences by Best Western Rewards program. And because Best Western is affiliated with airlines like Southwest Airlines, American Airlines and Alaska Airlines, members can redeem points for miles.

The InterContinental Hotels Group's Rewards Club contains more than 5,400 properties throughout approximately 100 countries and has numerous hotels in major cities like New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Miami and London. Through the IHG Rewards Club, you can earn rewards within IHG's extensive network of hotels, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Hotel Indigo and Kimpton properties. The program offers a variety of ways to use your accumulated points, ranging from paying for hotel stays and air travel to purchasing goods and services online. You can also earn points on hotel stays and everyday purchases with the IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card or the IHG Rewards Club Traveler Credit Card, both from Chase.
