Membership Levels

The Choice Privileges program is divided into four tiers: basic member, Gold, Platinum and Diamond.

Basic

Benefits include:

  • Ability to earn and use points
  • Priority check-in/out
  • Free amenities
  • Member discounts

You can sign up for the free Choice Privileges program on the Choice Hotels website or at any Choice Hotel. Becoming a basic member allows you to start accruing up to 10 points for every dollar spent at eligible properties. The points can be put toward free nights. You'll automatically receive benefits like access to reduced room rates, late checkout upon request (subject to availability), free local calls at select locations, express check-in and complimentary high-speed internet access at participating properties. Plus, Members are given a collectible coaster (which can be used for a free beverage at an affiliated hotel's bar after one drink purchase) or 250 bonus points (when staying at domestic Cambria Hotels properties). Members also receive added benefits for booking a stay with at least one weeknight (Sunday through Thursday). Those benefits include bonus points or airline miles, per gallon discounts at participating fuel stations, coffee gift cards, Amazon credit and Uber discounts. Reward stays in hotels cannot be booked more than 100 days prior to your arrival date. To keep your accrued points from expiring, you must stay at a Choice Hotels property at least once every 18 months.

Gold

Benefits include:

  • Ability to earn and use points
  • Priority check-in/out
  • Free amenities
  • Member discounts

To qualify for and keep Gold status in the Choice Privileges program, you must stay at least 10 nights at an affiliated property every calendar year. (Reward nights count toward your elite status.) Gold membership allows you to earn 10% more points per stay than basic membership. Gold members also have access to a dedicated reservation line, plus a free snack and beverage at check-in or bonus points from participating U.S. hotels (including Comfort Suites and Clarion). What's more, Gold members enjoy priority early check-in and checkout (when available), as well as complimentary reserved parking at domestic and Canadian properties. Keeping your Gold membership requires meeting minimum stay requirements annually; any Gold member who accrues extra qualifying nights can roll over those nights to the next year to help keep their elite status.

Platinum

Benefits include:

  • Ability to earn and use points
  • Priority check-in/out
  • Free amenities
  • Member discounts

If you stay at Choice Hotels properties for at least 20 nights in a calendar year, you will qualify for Platinum membership. Along with the benefits awarded to Gold members, Platinum members will earn a 25% points bonus each stay. Plus, priority late checkout is guaranteed when you stay at any participating property. Platinum membership also comes with complimentary Avis Preferred Plus status in the Avis Preferred rewards program. • Priority check-in/out
