Membership Levels

The Hilton Honors program is divided into four membership levels: Member, Silver, Gold and Diamond.

Member

Benefits include:

  • Ability to earn and use points
  • Priority check-in/out
  • Free amenities
  • Member discounts

You can achieve Member status by enrolling for free in the Hilton Honors program. At this level, you can earn base points and bonus points to cash in for free stays at participating Hilton properties. Base points will count toward elite status qualification. In addition to accruing points, you will have access to basic membership benefits, including a discounted, changeable and refundable rate; free standard internet access at select Hilton brands (when booking directly through Hilton); and late checkout. What's more, any accompanying guest charges will be waived when staying with another person in the same room, and you can use a mobile device to check in and make room preference requests (your choice of room location and pillow, for example) up to 24 hours before your arrival. To maintain your membership, you must stay at a Hilton property, use an affiliated credit card, donate points to charity or purchase points at least once a year.

Silver

Benefits include:

  • Ability to earn and use points
  • Free nights
  • Priority check-in/out
  • Free amenities
  • Member discounts

If you stay at a Hilton property four separate times or 10 nights within a calendar year, you'll achieve Silver status. At this level, you'll enjoy the same benefits awarded to basic members, plus every fifth night is free for standard room reward stays of five nights or more. You'll also receive an extra 20 percent rewards bonus on top of the base points earned from each stay, plus two complimentary water bottles at select Hilton brands. For stays at Home2 Suites by Hilton and Tru by Hilton properties, you'll accrue six points per dollar spent. You can keep your Silver benefits by meeting minimum stay requirements each year.

Gold

Benefits include:

  • Ability to earn and use points
  • Free nights
  • Free room upgrades
  • Priority check-in/out
  • Free amenities
  • Member discounts

You can reach Hilton Honors Gold status by staying at a Hilton property 20 separate times (or 40 nights) in a calendar year or by accumulating 75,000 base points each year. You will enjoy all the benefits of the Silver and Member levels. At certain Hilton properties, including Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Garden Inn and Embassy Suites by Hilton, you can choose to either earn bonus points for your stay or enjoy elite status perks like free breakfast for you and one guest or up to two complimentary snacks and bottles of water. If you're staying at Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Canopy by Hilton, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton, Curio Collection by Hilton, Tapestry Collection by Hilton or Conrad Hotels & Resorts properties, you can also upgrade your room, space permitting. Plus, you'll receive an 80 percent rewards bonus in addition to the base points you earn per stay. And for each stay at a Home2 Suites by Hilton or Tru by Hilton hotel, you'll collect nine points per dollar spent. In order to maintain Gold status, you must continue to reach minimum stay or points requirements annually.

Diamond

Benefits include:

  • Ability to earn and use points
  • Free nights
  • Free room upgrades
  • Priority check-in/out
  • Free amenities
  • Member discounts

Achieve Diamond status by staying at a Hilton property 30 separate times (or 60 nights) in one calendar year or by accumulating 120,000 base points annually. Reaching this membership level grants you a 100 percent points bonus on top of the base points you earn from each stay, except at Home2Suites by Hilton and Tru by Hilton properties, where you'll receive 10 points per dollar spent on each stay. You're also guaranteed a room when you book at least 48 hours in advance. During stays at brands like Curio Collection by Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton and Conrad Hotels & Resorts, you can choose to receive executive floor lounge access (at select properties) instead of bonus points or on-site amenities like free breakfast and complimentary refreshments. You'll also have access to the hotel benefits of all three previous tiers. You will need to maintain Diamond status' minimum stay or points requirements each year to keep your Diamond membership benefits. If you cannot meet annual qualification requirements, you may extend your Diamond status once for an additional year. To be eligible for a status extension, you have to have previously held Diamond status for a minimum of three years and stayed at least 250 nights or earned 500,000 base points since joining Hilton Honors.
